60 Questions Answered

Q. I have a pending lawsuit against me that my insurance taking care of. Question is, can I still enlist in the military?
A: Yes, having a car accident case pending is no reason you cannot enlist in the military. Presumably the pending lawsuit is for negligence while operating a motor vehicle.
Q. Is there any lawyer in Waterbury that do not ask for upfront fee, and get paid once case is settled?
A: I agree with Attorney Rosenberg's post.
Q. How can I find pending civil cases for connecticut online?
A: You can start on Googe - plus in any case name. You can look on the CT Judicial Branch website and look up cases there as well. Here is the link: http://www.jud.state.ct.us/ Sally Roberts
Q. I found out recently that I had potentially unnecessary surgery performed on me as an infant, do I have any recourse?
A: The statue of limitations will be a major hurdle. I don't see any way around it.
Q. Is it legal for me to write my own demand letter to a company I think should pay my medical bills in a train accident?
A: The more important issue is that a company will not take a pro se seriously and will low ball any offer. Once an attorney is involved the value of the case goes up and that attorney can help negotiate a better settlement for the injured person.
Q. Given a 14-298 in connecticut by a state trooper. Nothing else was written except for that. Will it affect my insurance
A: Are you sure that it wasn't a 14-298a? The section you cite isn't a traffic violation. 14-298 established the Office of the State Traffic Administration,
Q. is there anyone willing to take on a CT state trooper?
A: Before addressing the merits you first need to tell us the date of the incident(s) so that we could determine whether the statute of limitations is an issue.
Q. Can a officer give the passenger a ticket for running a red light if driver didn't have license on him?
A: This is an odd Q - I presume in the fact situation you presented the passenger did actually get a ticket. I can see no grounds for the passenger to get a ticket unless there are some facts that have not been presented.
Q. If a job application asks about past illnesses, whom defines past illnesses, me, or my diagnosis history?
A: Your answer is perplexing, as you have not explaied why you seem to disagree with your own medical records as to diagnosis history and whether there is a valid way to dispute it.
