Anthony L. Velasquez
Anthony L. Velasquez, Esquire, is a NJ real estate and foreclosure attorney. He is in-house counsel for a real estate investment and management company in New Jersey focusing on tax lien investments, multi-family complexes and healthcare facilities throughout the northeast. He has practiced throughout New Jersey for over 24 years. Previously Mr. Velasquez operated his own law firm for a decade, and he was also an attorney for several mid-sized law firms in the Central New Jersey areas where he engaged in a large variety of real estate law matters (residential and commercial sales, title litigation, tax sale certificate foreclosures, mortgages, leasing, environmental and construction law), along with business litigation, government procurement, employment law and administrative law. Mr. Velasquez focuses his practice on all matters related to real estate -- including residential/commercial sales, investments, title issues, tax lien investments/ foreclosures, leasing (residential/ commercial), construction liens, tax appeals and all other real estate related matters. He has argued successfully on behalf of his clients before all levels of the NJ Superior Courts and the NJ Supreme Court, in addition to the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. He successfully argued the landmark case Simon v. Cronecker, 189 NJ 304 (2007), concerning the rights of distressed property owners facing tax foreclosure. Mr. Velasquez earned his Bachelor’s degree from The College of New Jersey (formerly Trenton State College), his Master’s degree from the Eagleton Institute of Politics, Rutgers University, and his Juris Doctorate degree from Rutgers University, School of Law at Camden. He has lectured throughout New Jersey on a variety of legal topics including litigation, real estate and foreclosure, and he has been an adjunct professor at The College of New Jersey where he has taught Business Law.
