Q. So I wanna start a business And i wanna make a logo with the outline of a gtr (a car) will I get copyrighted or sued
A: A logo for a business is an issue of trademark law rather than copyright law because your logo is how a potential customer would recognize you in the marketplace and distinguish you from your competitors.

To properly answer this question, you should meet with an attorney to discuss details about the business. It is critical to define the goods and/or services you currently offer, goods and/or services you intend to offer, competitors, and how your logo would be used. It is also important to search for designs with vehicles or other symbols that look similar to a GT-R. The standard is likelihood of confusion – an exact match is not required for trademark infringement.

Generally, you will have stronger trademark protection if you were to create a unique design rather than trying to use a GT-R, which could result in a trademark infringement action. A unique design would also have a greater chance of successfully registering the logo as a trademark. ... Read More
Q. I bought something online through a website. I was told that I would be able to get a refund if need be.
A: Save all communications or documentation, especially where she said she would provide a refund. Also, save all receipts, contracts, and terms & conditions. If this is on her website, try saving the site as a .pdf with the URL and timestamp in the header or footer. Then, if you paid with a credit card or a payment provider such as PayPal, you could try disputing the claim with them.

If you did not use a credit card or a payment provider, or if they cannot assist you, it may be worth having an attorney review the transaction to help you determine whether you have a breach of contract claim.
Q. I can’t find any info on Authority to tow in Michigan. All I see is need proper insurance, plates and dot #’s
A: When hauling for-hire, in intrastate commerce, operating authority must be granted through the Michigan State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division (MSP-CVED), Regulatory and Credentialing Section. This includes carriers that are in business as a repossession company or an auto auction company. Once granted authority, the carrier may have to license its intrastate vehicle(s) though the MSP-CVED; 517-284-3250. For-hire means, for a direct or indirect fee, transporting property not owned nor manufactured by the company doing the transporting.

All interstate carriers, private and for-hire, must register in the annual Unified Carrier Registration (UCR) Program.
