Ivette G. Petkovich

Attorney Ivette Gonzalez Petkovich is a seasoned Miami criminal defense attorney, serving clients throughout the state of Florida who are indicted or charged in federal and state criminal offenses or under investigation by law enforcement or other government agencies. Born and raised in Miami, Attorney Petkovich attended the University of Miami where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. She received her Juris Doctorate degree from the St. Thomas University School of Law, also in Miami. She is now a married mother of two with a private law practice in Miami-Dade. Having spent her life in South Florida, she is familiar with the legal landscape and knows how courts operate statewide. Attorney Petkovich began her career as a prosecutor in the DUI Division at the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s office. Her extensive trial experience as a prosecutor and later in private practice includes more than 50 jury trials. As a prosecutor she learned the inner workings of the criminal justice system, ultimately serving as a Special Prosecutor in the office’s Economic Crime’s Unit Insurance Fraud Division. In private practice since 2010, she remained an active and aggressive trial lawyer. In 2012, she secured the acquittal of a Medical Doctor in a federal Medicare Fraud case In 2016, she secured a hung jury twice in the same murder case involving complex issues of self-defense and property rights. Attorney Petkovich does not give up. She continues to fight zealously on behalf of clients charged in federal and state court.
