J. Grady Hepworth
Hepworth Law Offices
J. Grady Hepworth was born and raised in Twin Falls, Idaho. Grady graduated from the University of Washington School of Law among the top of his class. While in law school, Grady was a Senior Editor for the Washington Journal of Law Technology & Arts, as well as co-Champion of the 2017 Judson Falknor Appellate Advocacy Competition. Grady gained invaluable judicial experience while interning with the Idaho Supreme Court, the United States District Court for the District of Idaho, and the chambers of Judge Richard C. Tallman for the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. These experiences provided a strong understanding of the court systems in the Pacific Northwest at every institutional level. Grady distinguishes himself with his passion for law, his love of serving others, and his strong work ethic.
Prior to law school, Grady graduated magna cum laude from the University of Idaho, with a double major in International Studies and Political Science. Grady held leadership positions for the Associated Students of the University of Idaho, the Martin Institute of International Studies, and the Sigma Chi Fraternity—both locally and as Undergraduate Representative to the International Executive Committee.
Outside the courtroom, Grady loves family, friends, and food. Grady is an avid skier, and tries his best on the golf course. Grady is excited to devote time and resources giving back to our local communities and serving the Great State of Idaho in any way possible.

- Q. I got laid off due to COVID-19. If the job opens back up and I don’t get my job back can I sue? Short 6 months for 10 yr
- A: More information is needed to answer your question. Idaho is an "at-will" employment state. You are not guaranteed your job back. However, you might have a case if you believe your (former) employer refused to hire you back for a discriminatory reason (i.e. race, gender, disability, age, etc).
- Q. What kinds of damages (money awards) are available to the plainitff in a medical malpractice lawsuit?
- A: As a general matter, Plaintiffs in a medical malpractice can recover damages for past medical expenses, future medical expenses, lost income (if applicable) and general damages for pain and suffering.
- Q. If a tool I was using has a known defect but I also misused it when I got injured, does that negate any claim I might
- A: A full answer would require additional consultation. However generally speaking if you "misused" the product, it will make your claim difficult. Under Idaho law, a jury would ultimately be asked to proportion the negligence of both you and the manufacturer (or possibly the retailer/distributor). If a jury finds that you are 50% or more at fault for your "misuse" and the manufacturer is 50% or less at fault for the defect, you would not recover anything. If the manufacturer is 51% or more at fault, you could recover that percentage of the total damages that the manufacturer is responsible for (i.e. manufacturer is 75% at fault and jury finds you were damaged $100,000.00, you ...
