Biography

Jack, a graduate of ASU Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law, has devoted his entire career to honing his trial and litigation skills. He started in private practice, then went to work at Maricopa County Public Defender’s office where he handled cases ranging from assault, drug trafficking, white collar, dangerous crimes, sex crimes, and homicides.

Throughout his experiences, Jack recognized not only his passion for litigation but also for fighting for the underdog—those who have everything stacked against them when their liberty is at stake. Jack believes there are two sides to every story and that everyone is entitled to have their story told and their constitutional rights protected regardless of race, gender, or class. No matter the situation Jack believes everyone is entitled to the best representation possible.

Jack’s passion for trial work and litigation, along with his dedication to his clients, has led to numerous not guilty verdicts and well over 100 dismissals including major felony cases where he investigated and litigated the issues.

1 Questions Answered
Q. How do I get a public defender to sit and discuss my felony drug case now I got to make a choice to plea or trial?
A: You need to contact your attorney in writing, via email, and ask to sit down to discuss everything. Before the meeting you should request copies of your discovery (police reports, and any evidence the state intends to use to support their case at trial). The attorney should then walk you through what your constitutional rights are, the trial strengths and weaknesses, and potential constitutional violations that should be litigated, and your sentencing exposure (the amount of time you would be looking at in prison if you lost at trial). Then you can compare those things to the outcome listed in the plea agreement. You can also request a settlement conference with the court to review these things with your lawyer present. ...
