Jennifer Bunker Skerston has worked in the Illinois Valley legal community for the past seven years handling many litigation related matters including will contests, property tax appeals, breach of contract, and personal injury claims.
Jennifer Bunker Skerston is actively involved in the Illinois State Bar Association Trusts and Estates Section Council. She is the Editor of the Council’s monthly publication distributed to members throughout Illinois. She also assists the Council in providing continuing legal education to attorneys, determining the need for new legislation, and reviewing and suggesting changes to current legislative proposals affecting wills, trusts and estates. She has developed and drafted will and trust-based estate plans and administered probate and trust estates. She teaches an advanced Master of Laws (LL.M) class at The John Marshall Law School in Estate Planning and Tax Law. She also has experience in representing local governmental agencies and in representing closely held businesses.
Jennifer graduated Cum Laude from Michigan State University College of Law with a concentration in Environmental and Natural Resources Law in May 2009 and was a Merit Scholarship recipient. She received her undergraduate degree, graduating With Highest Honors, from DePaul University in American Studies and minored in Professional Writing.
Jennifer Bunker Skerston was recognized as an outstanding young professional and a member of the “40 Under Forty” class for Bureau, LaSalle, Marshall and Putnam counties. She has been actively involved in the Zonta Club of the LaSalle-Peru Area.
Jennifer Bunker Skerston, has represented clients in Streator and throughout central Illinois for more than nine years.
