- Q. how do you get false imprisonment
- A: A person commits the offense of false imprisonment when, in violation of the personal liberty of another, he arrests, confines, or detains such person without legal authority. It is considered a felony offense and carries a punishment of 1 - 10 years in the penitentiary (as long as the victim is over 14 years of age). Generally, if you are arrested for this crime, it will show up on a criminal background check. Some employers only care about convictions, however, which would mean that you pled guilty or were found guilty at trial. You may qualify for First Offender Treatment under O.C.G.A. 42-8-60 et seq. - Q. We are not happy with the lawyers we have can we change and if so will we have to go through all the medical procedures
- A: If you are not happy with your lawyer(s) you can fire them by notifying them in writing, such as with a letter or email. Sometimes a lawyer can help you keep more of the settlement money for yourself by asking the medical providers to share in the costs of recovery by agreeing to reduce the bills so a settlement can be reached.

- Q. Skipped Court DUI
- A: On top of the Failure to appear suspension that is possible, it is also likely that the court has ordered a bench warrant for your arrest. If you turn yourself in, it is likely that you will be able to bond out soon after processing. If you hire a local attorney, they may be able to simplify the process as well as assist you on your underlying DUI and failure to maintain lane charges.
