They are the proud parents of three sons. His oldest son, Daniel is a student at Carlow Univerity and working at HVL Laboratories. His younger son, Joseph is currently serving in the United States Air Force.

He was the Steubenville City Prosecutor from 1985 to 1989. He has also been the Solicitor and then the Mayor's Court Magistrate for the for the Village of Amsterdam, Ohio.
