I am Justin Batoff, a principal at Batoff Associates, and I have recently joined Silverman Thompson as of counsel. In this role, I am dedicated to serving our clients and providing guidance to startups, emerging companies, and established private and family-owned businesses on a variety of transactional and corporate matters. My practice primarily focuses on mergers and acquisitions, private placements, equity compensation, real estate and commercial transactions, and estate planning.
Clients appreciate my role as outside general counsel, where I offer practical, business-focused legal solutions that are aligned with their strategic goals. I provide advice across multiple industries, including manufacturing, food and beverage, industrials, technology, and professional services. An integral part of my comprehensive approach involves assisting clients in identifying and connecting with strategic partners and investors.
I possess extensive experience in all stages of the deal process, which includes structuring, negotiation, implementation, and post-closing support. I am adept at handling both domestic and cross-border transactions, offering insights into the tax implications of business deals and creating tax-efficient, compliant structures that maximize value and minimize risk.
Beyond my corporate practice, I also advise individuals, families, entrepreneurs, and executives in Maryland and New York on wealth preservation, succession planning, and tax-efficient business exits.
