
Kimberly Laura Alderman
Alderman Law FirmKimberly Alderman was in the top of her class when she earned her law degree from the Howard University School of Law in Washington, DC. She then served as a judicial clerk in the Superior Court of the US Virgin Islands. Following her clerkship, she was an associate attorney in a general practice law firm, representing clients in state and federal court. She continued her professional journey by joining the faculty at the University of Wisconsin Law School, where she taught criminal appellate litigation and civil practice skills. She serves as the Chair of the Executive Committee for the American Society of International Law’s Cultural Heritage and the Arts Group, a member of the American Bar Association’s Art and Cultural Heritage Law Committee, and the Chair of the CLE Committee for the Wisconsin State Bar Individual Rights and Responsibilities Section. She is a member of the Wisconsin State Bar Appellate Practice Section and the committee for the State Bar of Wisconsin Wills for Heroes program, which provides pro bono assistance with wills and other estate planning documents for first responders. Attorney Alderman has published extensively in academic journals and popular publications. She has appeared across the country to speak and has been interviewed by BBC, NPR, and The Art Newspaper. She is the author of The Freelance Lawyering Manual (2011), The Long Winter (2013), and Foreclosure Defense: Litigation Strategies and Appeals (2013). She also maintains the Wisconsin Appeals Blog
