Larry J. Ford is an attorney with 47 years of experience whose practice provides legal services to business owners, families, individuals, and retired persons in the following areas: Asset Protection Planning, Business Planning, Corporations, Charitable Trusts, Estate Planning, Federal Tax Planning, Family Limited Partnerships, Limited Liability Companies, Living Trusts, Medicaid Planning, Real Estate, and Wills and Estates.
Ford first practiced law in the Asheville/Hendersonville area, then was in the corporate business and legal arena in Charlotte, NC, prior to returning to Hayesville in 1991. In Charlotte, Ford served as Vice-President/Legal Counsel with two different title insurance companies, and as a Development Manager with real estate development firms.
He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina School of Law (Chapel Hill, NC) with a Juris Doctor degree, and was awarded the Albert Ellis Fellowship for all three years of law school by the UNC Law Alumni Association. Ford also graduated from Western Carolina University, magna cum laude, with a B.A.
A native of Clay County, NC, Ford graduated from Hayesville High School.

- Q. What is included in a list of personal property when you are the administator in an estate
- A: No, you do not "have to give away" your husband's drums, jewelry and other personal effects. You do have to list those items on both the initial inventory and the "90-day" inventory, along with the fair market value of those items.
