Leonel Enrique Mendieta
Mr. Mendieta started his legal career as an intern at the Bank of New York Mellon’s in-house legal department where he gained practical experience in contract drafting and review, corporate compliance, and risk management. He went on to serve as a judicial intern for the Honorable John L. Musmanno, Senior Judge of the Superior Court of Pennsylvania, where he conducted extensive legal research in criminal and constitutional law and drafted and published a number of summary opinions on appeals brought before the Court.
Finally, as a legal intern for both The Mendieta Law Firm, PLLC (TMLF) and the University of Pittsburgh School of Law’s Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic, Mr. Mendieta found his passion for assisting those in need. At TMLF, Mr. Mendieta served clients facing deportation as well as those needing assistance in navigating through the complex immigration system, fully supporting the firm’s mission statement, “Building a Better America, One Immigrant at a Time!” The Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic allowed Mr. Mendieta to continue to represent clients in Tax Court and in negotiations with IRS Chief Counsel.
As in-house counsel for PVR Technologies, Inc., an information technology consulting firm based in Philadelphia, PA, he was tasked with drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and maintaining the company’s Employment Agreements, Master Service Agreements, and Individual Professional Services Contracts as well as preparing and processing Immigrant and Non-Immigrant Visa Petitions for the company’s foreign workforce.
Mr. Mendieta now returns to The Mendieta Law Firm, PLLC heading its new Miami office, located in the heart of Coral Gables. Mr. Mendieta brings his specialty in business immigration to expand the firm's area of practice.
