Martin G. Weinberg is a nationally recognized criminal defense attorney, widely regarded in the legal community as a leading trial and appellate white-collar defense litigator. Graduating from Harvard Law School in 1971, Attorney Weinberg has garnered acclaim for exceptional contributions as a trial and appellate attorney and influential figure in the legal profession. In 2022, he received the coveted lifetime achievement award from the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL).
Attorney Weinberg’s extensive experience includes leading defense teams that secured dismissals or acquittals in high-profile cases involving public officials, labor union leaders, business executives, attorneys and others charged with health and financial fraud, money laundering, racketeering (RICO), political corruption, securities fraud, tax fraud, international bookmaking, computer theft and other federal and state offenses. He is well known for his recent successful representation of parents charged in the Varsity Blues scandal, business executives, securities traders, and attorneys both in the district of Massachusetts and nationwide. Attorney Weinberg's legal prowess extends to representing defendants in over 20 federal districts, 8 U.S. Courts of Appeal, and the U.S. Supreme Court. Notably, he successfully argued the landmark Fourth Amendment case United States v. Chadwick and successfully challenged the Department of Justice's reliance on the Stored Communications Act in United States v Warshak, the first appellate decision upholding Fourth Amendment privacy rights against the seizure of email communications.
His remarkable achievements include 37 years of inclusion in The Best Lawyers, being honored as one of the Top 10 Lawyers in Massachusetts in 2011, and consistent recognition in Super Lawyers for White Collar criminal defense.
