Matthew A. Drewes
Partner, DeWitt LLC | Law Firm
I'm a shareholder with DeWitt Law Firm practicing in the areas of real estate and business. I have assisted local and international banks and retailers, national restaurant operators and other businesses, community associations, property managers and owners, title insurers, general contractors and construction trades, creditors, landlords, and parties to insurance coverage disputes. I also work with community associations and their property managers in all kinds of transactions and disputes. I have successfully tried and arbitrated cases and handled insurance appraisals in state and federal courts, as well as appeals. I have also been selected to serve as mediator involving issues of international trade and implicating United Nations conventions relating to the sale of goods, and as a member of an appraisal panel charged with determining the loss attributable to the partial roof collapse of a commercial building.
I have been quoted in articles in both print and online sources, including: Minneapolis StarTribune; Minnesota Lawyer (regarding construction defect litigation and punitive damages in connection with the Highway 35W bridge collapse); Habitat Magazine; Yahoo!Finance.com; HOALeader.com; and Bankrate.com. I also have been named several times to the Minnesota list of Rising Stars as maintained by Minnesota Law and Politics, a distinction achieved by only 2.5 percent of attorneys in the state each year.
