Megan Douglass
Megan has a unique background as she was a public educator prior to becoming a lawyer. Megan’s experience as a teacher has shaped her approach to legal representation. She considers the “whole client” in assessing legal needs, and she investigates cases exhaustively, with empathy and compassion. Megan also takes the time to explain complex legal information in a way her clients can understand. In the area of employment law, Megan focuses her practice on representing employees. Megan is committed to representing employees in all aspects of employment litigation such as Sexual Harassment; Discrimination; Retaliation; Wrongful Discharge; Family and Medical Leave and Whistleblower Complaints. Megan is also one of few lawyers in New Hampshire who regularly represents employees impacted by violations of the National Labor Relations Act, e.g. where an employer mistreats an employee due to his or her effort to collaborate with co-workers, to improve their workplace. Because of Megan’s passion and commitment to justice for the individuals she represents, Megan has been highly rated by her peers and has been asked by them to lead the charge in making and preserving laws that protect her clientele. Megan has drafted and advocated for legislation to protect public school students from peer abuse. Megan has also argued on behalf of several legal groups, before the New Hampshire Supreme Court, to limit protections currently afforded those who commit negligence; to grant insured persons greater access to their insurance coverage; and to prevent public employees from being retaliated against and terminated for taking important steps to protect the public.
