As a litigator, Michael Alfera excels in developing persuasive arguments and strategies for clients involved in business and commercial disputes on both sides of the 'v.' Before his current role at Weinberg Gonser, he worked as a judicial law clerk, first for the Los Angeles Superior Court and later for the Honorable Otis D. Wright II, a District Judge in the District Court for the Central District of California. His role in assisting multiple judges sharpened his ability to view cases from a judicial standpoint, which is essential in achieving positive results for his clients.
Mr. Alfera was #1 in his cohort at Southwestern Law School and a member of the victorious team at the 2018 Wagner Labor and Employment Law national moot court competition in New York City. He is also an active thought leader, frequently teaching continuing education courses on legal writing and other topics. In April 2025, he gave a TEDx talk at TEDxSouthwestern titled "Beyond the Billable Hour: How Tech and AI are Transforming Legal Work."
Outside of law, he a classically trained pianist, composer, and conductor. He was the staff accompanist for the Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles, and in 2014 he established the L.A. Choral Lab, a local performing arts nonprofit dedicated to promoting contemporary choral music.
