Richard Lewis Magill
I decided that I wanted to be an attorney after working in the steel mill for several years and saw how people were treated in the workplace. I felt they needed representation as no one was standing up for them and the employer always had representation. I decided to be an attorney to help people and to win claims at all cost. I have represented my clients at all levels from the administrative process all the way to the Ohio Supreme court where I have argued several cases successfully in front of the Supreme Court on behalf of my clients.
I started working towards my law degree by attending The Ohio State University. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in 1984. I then attended Cleveland-Marshall College of Law and received my Juris Doctorate in 1987. I was admitted to the Ohio Bar in 1987 and celebrated 25 years of practicing law in 2012.
In the past 25 years, I have been admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals, Sixth Circuit and U.S. District Court, Northern District of Ohio. I am member of the Ohio State Bar Association, Small Practice Division; the Ohio State Bar Association Workers Compensation Committee; a member of the Trumbull County Bar Association, Executive Committee; Member of the Portage County Bar Association and a Member of the Mahoning - Trumbull county Academy of Trial Lawyers.
I am married with two children and reside in McDonald, Ohio. I am involved in my children’s sports and have coached several softball and baseball teams. I love my job and spending time with my family and our dog, Buddy.
