Biography

I would describe myself as a Trial Lawyer, Negotiator, Business Owner, Human Rights Advocate, Humanitarian, Animal-lover, Adventurer, Fitness enthusiast, Swimmer, Scuba Diver, and Cyclist.

My legal career began in 1989, fueled by a passion to use my skills as a trial lawyer to stand up for people against power. In 1993, I founded my own law firm, initially called HendlerLaw, which has since evolved into Hendler Flores Law, co-founded with my law partner Lulu Flores. In my practice, I focus on understanding my clients’ struggles and challenges, and helping them navigate the emotional, financial, and physical aftermath of their injuries and losses to move forward with their lives. I harness my skills as a trial lawyer to empower individuals to challenge injustice.

My practice is committed to representing plaintiffs in cases involving toxic exposure (such as Mesothelioma, asbestos-related cancer), consumer fraud, class actions, and life-changing injuries and wrongful death throughout the United States. I work collaboratively with attorneys across the nation and represent both U.S. citizens and foreign nationals who have suffered or died in the United States or due to the misconduct of American corporations abroad and foreign corporations causing people harm and damages in this country.

Since 2004, I have been recognized by Martindale-Hubbell as an AV rated lawyer, an honor that signifies reaching the pinnacle of professional excellence, skill, and integrity according to others in the legal profession.

Successes include appeals before the U.S. Supreme Court, the Delaware Supreme Court, the Hawaii Supreme Court, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, en banc. We have secured numerous multi-million dollar settlements for our clients through skilled and thoughtful negotiation.

Outside the courtroom, I cherish the time spent with my family and friends, and together with Lulu, we support many community organizations with our time and resources.

Legal Answers
5 Questions Answered
Q. Negotiating wrongful death settlement in Illinois led to pressured agreement; attorney left shortly after. What are my options?
A: If you haven’t signed any documents, you can definitely seek a second opinion to evaluate the facts and the propriety of the proposed settlement. You should contact the owner or Managing Partner of the law firm that represented you to find out the status of your case, why your lawyer left, and who is responsible for your case now. Under the circumstances, you can definitely reach out to another law firm and ask their lawyers to advise you on how to proceed.
Q. My wife suffered a massive stroke 2 hours after a lung operation and passed away 12 days later. Is the doctor liable?
A: A doctor can be liable for something like this but it depends on why the stroke occurred and when it happened. There is not enough information in your inquiry for me to give you a more definitive answer. If the doctor breached the standard of care during the operation or afterwards during her post operative care, its possible. But it depends on many variables.
Q. What are my legal options if I suspect my father died due to covid-19 vaccine complications? Date of death was 11/2021
A: Probably none. The statutory period within which to assert a claim has expired. Under the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (VICP), claims must be filed within three years from the first symptom or manifestation of the injury. This statute of limitations is crucial for determining eligibility for compensation. For detailed information, refer to the Health Resources and Services Administration's guidelines on filing a claim.
