I have been practicing law in Washington State since 1980. I was born in Tokyo, raised in California, and graduated from Stanford University in 1972 with a Bachelor of Arts with distinction. After obtaining my law degree from the University of Washington Law School in 1980, I practiced law in Seattle for seven years. In 1986, I moved to Tokyo to teach negotiations at prominent companies such as NTT, NEC, Nissan, and Hakuhodo. I'm a 1982 graduate of the UCLA School of Law who has been practicing law in Bellevue since that year. My practice emphasizes plaintiff's personal injury and insurance claims, real estate litigation and other civil litigation cases. Before becoming a lawyer, I worked as a copywriter/creative director in advertising and as on-air talent at a commercial radio station. Communication is very important to me, whether with clients, insurance adjusters, opposing counsel or with a judge and jury. Litigation is difficult enough without struggling with your attorney. I try to make the process as easy as possible for my clients.

Hello and thank you for visiting my profile site. We have been living in Washington for three years following a move from Minnesota in 2007 for my wife's health. We have four kids, all of whom are in college or have graduated. I enjoy racquetball, flying small planes, biking, skiing, and woodwork.
