I represent clients in divorce, child custody, paternity and guardianship issues. My passion is assisting individuals during one of the toughest periods in their lives, when their marriage is coming to an end or child custody is at stake. Thomas A. Ginster is a partner in Peterson Ginster PLC, Greenville, Michigan. From 2003 to 2007, he served as a Special Assistant Attorney General. From 1994 to 2002, he was a policy advisor to former Governor John Engler and served as acting Director of the Michigan Office of Drug Control Policy. He previously served as an assistant prosecuting attorney for Saginaw and Montcalm Counties. He earned his law degree from Cooley and holds a degree in Public Administration from Michigan State.

My practice is varied and litigation oriented and includes almost four decades of experience. I am admitted to practice in all Michigan state courts; the Federal District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan, the Northern District of Indiana, and the Federeal Bankruptcy Court in Northern Kentucky; and the Supreme Court of the United States. My real estate practice has included considerable work in the area of Condominium Law besides work in title issues, transfers, and development matters.

I have enjoyed a small town general law practice for my entire career. Advising real estate, business and elderlaw clients presently gives me the most satisfaction in my business; but in a rural community where many different client needs require diligence and ingenuity, I enjoy the daily challenge of helping solve people's problems. As a Christian, I try to ensure that my own integrity and my client's satisfaction are observable at the end of each client encounter.
