Sam earned his law degree from the University of Toledo College of Law in 2014, where he was nominated into the Order of Barristers for his outstanding work at the national Duberstein Moot Court Competition, was one of the four annual finalists of the Charles W. Fornoff Appellate Advocacy Competition, and represented the University of Toledo College of Law at the annual Ohio Attorney General’s Public Service Mock Trial Competition. Thomas Schaffer comes from a family of eight, and started working at age twelve for his father’s farm and grain elevator. Earlier on, he saw how working families struggle to make ends meet and learned the value of hard work, dedication, and commitment to family. Attorney Thomas Schaffer was admitted to the Ohio Bar in 1990.
