Bret Knewtson is a solo practitioner representing only debtors. The practice is split between bankruptcy work and defending debtors who are sued by debt collectors. He also represent consumers who are harassed by debt collectors. The primary defense in debt collection cases is that the debtor did not make a payment in a long time. How long is long enough depends on the contract with the creditor. He does not take cases just to negotiate settlement.

David A. Jakeman, founding attorney of Beacon Immigration, has been interested in foreign cultures and languages since he was a young boy. That interest culminated in his decision to dedicate his legal career to immigration. In high school, David studied Spanish and German. After his graduation, he served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Mexico City and surrounding regions, where he grew to love the Mexican people and the Spanish language. Justin Idiart began practicing in 2011 although he has been working in the legal industry since 1998. Justin graduated from the University of Oregon School of Law.

During law school, he clerked for the Honorable Daniel L. Harris in Jackson County Circuit Court.

He also received an MBA from Brigham Young University in 2007. Justin is fluent in English and Spanish.

Dian "Dee" Rubanoff is an equity partner with Williams Zografos & Peck, exclusively representing employers in labor and employment matters. Dee grew up in Southern California and fell in love with Oregon while visiting family. Dee was hired by a Portland law firm before graduating from law school. Prior to joining Williams Zografos & Peck in 2001, Dee practiced litigation and appellate law. In her spare time, Dee enjoys volunteering for non-profits, including Dress for Success, and spending time with her family.

Ed focuses on matters involving government law, police practices, employment, contracts, personal injury, property damage and professional regulation. He counsels licensed professionals, employers and governmental entities on compliance with administrative, state and federal rules and regulations. Ed also represents individuals in employment, business and real estate matters.

I have practiced law in Portland, Oregon for over 50 years. I was an associate and a partner at Kell, Alterman & Runstein, LLP for over 25 years and now work as a solo practitioner from my home. I attended Colgate University and Suffolk University Law School in Boston. I have served as a member of the Board of Governors and as President of the Oregon State Bar.
