Charles Watts
Charles L. Watts, PLLC
Charles grew up in a family construction business and has been dealing with contracts and legal issues for over 30 years. He went to law school to reduce cost in the business, however during this time found a new passion in helping people through the legal hurdles that we all face at some point in time in our life.
Charles has been married to his wife Gina since 2003 and they have an adopted daughter whom they have had since birth. Actually since day one, as they were in the birthing room when she was born. Going through the adoption process has given us insight and experience from the clients view and understand the stress that comes along with an adoption, not to mention they have also undergone the stress of three failed IVF rounds, so understanding that stress and expense is nothing new to them either.
Charles focuses mostly on Family Law issues, such as Guardianships, Divorce, Custody or Visitation, and Adoptions. However, he is also very adept with Construction Law, general Business Law, and Tax Law.

- Q. How to sue for 4th Amendment violation in Oklahoma?
- A: 4th amendment protects from unwarranted searches and seizures. From initial observations, Mountain Park has a municipal ordinance prohibiting this, that is why you did not see it in the Oklahoma Statutes. Furthermore, if the passengers were minors who were not "secured" properly, they still had a good traffic stop. If they have a valid traffic stop, then there is no violation of the 4th amendment, anything that transpired as a result of the stop is valid. If you still feel you have a violation then contact an attorney and have them assist you in the filing as this would be in Federal Court since it is a violation of a Constitutional Right, you do not want to attempt filing it on ... - Q. Week-on, week-off custody without court order, ex trying to enforce child support payments. No income change.
- A: Get formal paperwork put in place. There will be a Child Support Calculation worksheet put together for you but it will take into account overnights, childcare (if any), Health Insurance (if any), other children in the home (not part of the case), alimony being paid out, etc... Your best bet is to get with a family law attorney and get ahead of this rather than coming from behind after it has been put in place; modifications of an existing order are harder to get than adjustments before an order is in place.
- Q. Lawyer unresponsive in divorce case; not providing files
- A: You can hire a new attorney to file an entry on your behalf and they will be able to get all the information from the opposing counsel or from the court. Alternatively, you can file a termination of attorney with the court and then you can represent yourself pro se and the opposing counsel can then work with you directly. As far as the invoices are concerned, you may have to have the other attorney help you with this and/or file a complaint with the Bar Association. Good luck
