David V. Calviello

David is a Partner with Calcagni & Kanefsky. A veteran New Jersey prosecutor and former Trial Chief in the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, David’s skill in the courtroom is second to none. He brings his extensive litigation and trial experience to bear on types of criminal and employment-related matters, including white collar criminal defense, representing clients facing internal and government investigations, and employment disputes. David also represents crime victims, and advocates for them in court.
Over the course of his 25-year career as a state prosecutor, David handled every kind of criminal case, tried nearly 60 jury trials, and rose the ranks to become the highest ranking Chief Prosecutor in the county. As Trial Chief, David oversaw the team of prosecutors who handled the majority of criminal cases in Bergen County, exercising plea authority on the most serious matters. During his tenure, David also served as Chief of the Special Investigations Squad, where he oversaw complex criminal investigations utilizing wiretaps, search warrants, and undercover surveillance to take down organized crime rings and other criminal enterprises operating in and around Bergen County.
More recently, David served as President of the Assistant Prosecutors’ Association of New Jersey, the leading advocate for New Jersey’s prosecutors, and widely credited with revitalizing the organization leading to numerous successes affecting every state prosecutor and DAG in New Jersey.
Today, David leverages his extensive knowledge, experience, and professional network to help clients navigate the legal system and achieve successful outcomes.
