Claimed Lawyer Profile
Biography

For over five decades, I, Edwin R. Rubin, Attorney at Law, have dedicated myself to serving the immigration law needs of corporations, individuals, and families. My work is recognized internationally, and I strive to offer personalized attention to each client.

I served as the National President of the American Immigration Lawyer's Association (AILA) from 1990-1991 member of AILA’s Board of Governors since 1982. Currently, I hold the position of AILA BOG Emeritus, a role I have been in since 2013. My scholarly contributions to the field include being the Senior Editor and a Contributing Author to "Immigration & Nationality Law," published annually by AILA from 1985 to 1990.

I was appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Labor to serve two terms on the Federal Advisory Committee on the Immigration Nursing Relief Act of 1989. I am also proud to have received AILA's Edith Lowenstein Memorial Award for Excellence in Advancing the Administrative Practice of Immigration Law in 1993 and AILA’s Mentor Award in 2001.

During my presidency at AILA, I established the AILA Mentor program and initiated electronic information distribution. I have also shared my knowledge through over 250 publications and lectures at Continuing Legal Education programs across the U.S.

My professional acknowledgments include listings in the "Martindale-Hubbell Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers" since 1994, "Best Lawyers in America" since 1991, “An International Who’s Who of Corporate Immigration Lawyers” since 1996, and “Superlawyers” since its inception.

I have also held senior leadership positions in the New Jersey State Bar Association and the Essex County Bar Association, chairing their Immigration Sections and Committees during various terms. Additionally, I served as the Vice Chair of the Immigration Committee of the General Practice Section of the American Bar Association from 1990 to 1996.

I am based in East Brunswick, NJ, and can be reached at erubin@rubinvisalaw.com or 973-735-2730.
