Jeffrey Campbell Venzie
Jeff’s construction law and litigation practice involves the representation of owners, construction managers, general contractors, subcontractors and sureties. He routinely counsels clients through project management issues and disputes that arise during construction with an eye not only to ensuring that all of the client’s rights and remedies are protected, but also to formulating and implementing a strategy that will place the client in an optimal position to prosecute or defend any litigation that may ensue after project completion.
Jeff has prosecuted and defended all types of construction claims and issues before various federal and state courts, and in arbitration, including claims arising out of delays, acceleration, loss of productivity, default, termination, extra work, construction defects, defective specifications, design errors and omissions, bid protests, differing site conditions and payment and performance bond claims. He has experience with a wide range of federal, state and private projects, including commercial buildings, high-rise buildings and condominiums, courthouses, schools and universities, hospitals, roads, sewers, sludge pit and landfill remediations, wastewater treatment plants, process piping plants, army depots, and pharmaceutical facilities. Jeff also has extensive experience in drafting construction contracts.
In addition to construction litigation, Jeff also has significant experience litigating commercial and business disputes, including cases involving the usurpation of corporate opportunities, partnership disputes and dissolution, breach of contract, fraud/misrepresentation, breach of fiduciary obligations, piercing the corporate veil, and representing creditors in bankruptcy court.
Early in his legal career, Jeff served as a trial attorney for the Internal Revenue Service Office of Chief Counsel in Philadelphia where he represented the IRS in the United States Tax Court.
