Born and raised in El Paso, Texas. Attended Vanderbilt University in Nashville upon graduation from high school and transferred to the University of Texas after one year.
Graduated from the University of Texas Austin in 1967 with a BS degree and from the University of Texas Law School in 1970. Licensed in the State of Texas since 1971 and in the state of New Mexico since 2001. Member of Texas and New Mexico Bar Associations, El Paso Bar Association, Western District of Texas (federal), Northern District of Texas, District of New Mexico, Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, US Supreme Court. I am board certified in Civil Trial Law in Texas, and a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates.
