For 17 years, I served as an insurance defense counsel, handling cases related to construction defects, general liability, and medical malpractice defense. Now, my practice is centered on consumer civil rights and employment law, where I also handle class actions in both fields.

Representing employees as a Union Leader inspired me to become an attorney, exclusively representing California employees against their employers in all aspects of employment law: illegal retaliation, illegal discrimination, wrongful termination, sexual harassment, wage/hour issues in the workplace, unemployment appeals, and understanding the severance agreement.

Hilary Vrem has been practicing law in San Diego for since 2005, joining the Bolander Law Group in 2010. Andrew Hillier is an experienced employment law litigator representing employees throughout California. He has helped plaintiffs navigate prosecution of claims for wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage theft, rest and meal break violations, and whistleblower retaliation.

In addition to his legal practice, Andrew is an adjunct professor at the University of San Diego School of Law where he teaches trial advocacy techniques. I am an employment and general business attorney with experience in transactional and litigation work. In my transactional practice, I advise businesses regarding contract interpretation, compliance with laws, and draft business related agreements. I audit businesses for compliance with federal and state employment laws, develop preventive policies, handbooks, employment agreements, and other employment documents to avoid employment claims and litigation.
